I would have espected Cerridwen to atleast have thoughts about possessing Jesica, it would cure her and her own body is quite old.

Then there is the fact Samantha was holding Tealc(?), which then transported them both to that cave.

Cerridwen holding Jesica in her hands should have resolted in a familiar happening. 

 

Thus the end is feeling quite rushed.

Perhaps one were they end up in Pegasus?

Interesting and entertaining. I hope that somewhere you are still writing. If you are still writing I just want to give one technical note. If a soldier goes MIA or is a POW they not only continue to receive pay, but continue to be promoted. She'd have already been a Major when she got back. I hope that future stories a forthcoming, even if I don't realize that you are the same writer.
